The answer to last weeks trivia question is "bananas in your tailpipe". Thank you to all who entered.
Just a quick update on what is going on at snap studio these days (Yes, we are still alive and actually thriving in this crazy economy!) :
The Japanese cocktail book is finally on its way to print! For those who have not enjoyed the roller-coaster that is book publishing, here's the back-story: Silverback Publishers approached us after their book on Japanese Cocktails was complete, asking for more dynamic imagery than what their previous photographers had supplied. We were given creative license on every aspect of our shoot: visual direction, color palette, art direction, props, surfaces and backgrounds. Wow! Everyone was stunned, thrilled, amazed and astounded (yes, astounded!) at the images we presented - but alas, Silverback fell victim to the downward economic spiral. Since we are never ones to give up and with the help of our friends at Silverback, the book has finally landed in the laps of a few maja playa's at Chronicle Books and wha-hoo! They signed on for publication.
This new association with Chronicle Books has become a great relationship, possibly leading to some new deals. I can't say too much, since nothing in this business is a done deal until you've paid the digital tech, but as a hint, just think two words: cookbooks!
Other news happening at Snap Studio: Holidays starting late this year! Summertime is always a crazy time of year - Christmas presents being wrapped, Christmas trees dotting the studio. But since this year is like no other, catalog producers and advertisers are starting photography in August instead of early summer.
So... if you're looking to get high quality photography, high production, at our "we're on the brink of depression" pricing - act quickly, because we are booking up all the way through the end of the year!
That's all we've got for this inaugural edition of the Snap Studio blog. We hope you enjoyed it, and we'll keep you posted on everything that passes our desk - whether you want us to or not!
Take care,
Ted, Chris, Diane, Bob, Abby - and the whole Snap Studio team.
